Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a set of standards launched in 2006. Since then, GOTS has proven its feasibility and supported an increase in organic fiber consumption and demands for consistent processing criterion from branches and retail.

GOTS is recognized as the world leading machining standard for organic textiles. This standard helps to ensure the organic status of textiles from the harvest of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible production to bring assurance and reliability to customers. This standard embraces processing, production, packing, labelling, business and contribution of all textiles manufactured from at least 70% certified organic fiber.  Finished yarns can include, but not limited to yarns, fabrics, apparel and home textiles. However, this standard does not establish criteria for leather products.

Goals of GOTS certification

GOTS appearance helps to set out global requirements concerning accreditation of organic textiles. The exploitation of materials, production, environmental protection and social responsibility to the printing of labels must ensure the reliability for end consumers.

Vendors or researchers and producers can export some kinds of fabrics and organic clothes thanks to globally recognized certificates.
