Pre-audit - Certification ISO 26000

Currently, organization is increasingly concerned about their social accountability. Relation between their activities and surrounding as well as effect on environment becomes a significant factor to evaluate competence of organization. Thus, ISO have published a set of ISO 26000 standard on social responsibility for enterprises.

What is ISO 26000?

ISO 26000:2010 provides guidance rather than requirements, so it cannot be certified to unlike some other well-known ISO standards. Instead, it helps clarify what social responsibility is, helps businesses and organizations translate principles into effective actions and shares best practices relating to social responsibility, globally. It is aimed at all types of organizations regardless of their activity, size or location.

Importance of ISO 26000 for enterprises

Besides providing qualified products, any enterprise desiring to have sustainable development needs to satisfy worker and customer’s demand as well as ensure environment protection.  Visionary leaders recognize that long-term success must be built on credible business practices and prevent fraudulent behavior and labor exploitation.

On the one hand, there has been a number of high-level declarations of principle related to SR and, on the other, there are many individual SR programmes and initiatives. The challenge is how to put the principles into practice and how to implement SR effectively and efficiently when even the understanding of what “social responsibility ” means may vary from one programme to another. In addition, previous initiatives have tended to focus on “corporate social responsibility”, while ISO 26000 provides SR guidance not only for business organizations, but also for public sector organizations of all types.

Structure of ISO 26000:

The contents of ISO 26000 is structured as follows:
