LEGAL BASIS ON THE CONFORMITY OF TEXTILE PRODUCTS

From 1 May 2018, before being released onto the market, textile products must be proclaimed conformity in accordance with the standards QCVN 01:2017/BCT on limit content levels of Formaldehyde and aromatic Amines metabolized from Azo dyes in textile products.

TYPES OF TEXTILE PRODUCTS THAT NEED CERTIFICATION OF CONFORMITY

According to the Standards QCVN 01;2017/BCT, these following textile products must have certification of conformity:

Group 01: Textile products for kids aged under 36 months old; or with the length of ≤100 cm for integral sets of clothes.
Group 02: Textile products in direct contact with the skin: are products when used with the products’ surface coming into direct contact with the skin of the users.
Group 03: Textile products not in direct contact with the skin: are products when used with the products’ surface not coming into direct contact with the skin of the users.

In case of proclaiming conformity of textile products based on testing results of organizations, individuals (the first party):

Conformity proclamation
Self-assessment Report
Commitment to quality in accordance with the standards and full responsibility for assessment results
For imported goods, an addition of brand name, type, characteristics, origin, contract, bill of lading, etc. is required

In case of proclaiming conformity of textile products based on certification/verification results of appointed organizations (the third party)

Conformity proclamation
Certificate in accordance with QCVN 01/2017/BCT enclosed with conformity marks issued by appointed certification/verification organizations (copy)

CONFORMITY CERTIFICATION PROCESS OF TEXTILE PRODUCTS

Get information from customers.
Carry out the quotation.
Sign the contract.
Carry out pre-audit and company assessment.
Test the samples of textile products.
Issue the conformity certificate of textile products.
Proclaim conformity of formaldehyde in textile products to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
