Product and service quality are always stable thanks to IATF 16949:2016.

IATF 16949:2009 has been officially replaced with IATF 16949:2016 since IATF 16949:2016 appeared.   Numerous Vietnamese enterprises in automobile industry reached successful conversions.

IATF 16949:2016 was issued in October, 2016 to replace ISO/TS 16949:2009 by International Organization for Standardization and International Automobile Task Force. This standard is applied to quality management system, especially in automobile industry and relevant specification manufacturers.

IATF 16949:2016 will help automobile industry to achieve sustainable development.

According to IATF 16949:2016, in addition to the compliance with standard requirements, automobile production enterprises must regularly apply 5 core tools (FMEA - Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, SPC - Statistical Process Control; MSA - Measurement System Analysis; APQP - Advanced Product Quality Planning and PPAP - Production Part Approval Process) to succeed in applying.

Although there are in the application of a new set of standard at first, domestic automobile production and assembly enterprises accomplished requirements of a new standard and plenty of IATF 16949:2016 were issued.  The new standard initially helped to boost productivity and product quality, for example Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation. 

To improve product quality and meet stringent requirements of partners in automobile, motorbike manufacturing immediately after IATF 16949:2016 was in public, VEAM supported finance, technique, pre-audit, train for both MTV Diesel Cong River Co., Ltd and No. 1 Spare Machine Company to establish IATF 16949:2016. Up to now, two firms achieved IATF 16949:2016 certificates, VEAM also applied this standard to other units of corporation like: SVEAM in the South.

According to Mr Ho Manh Tuan, Vice Director of VEAM stated that: Deployment firstly faces challenges. At first, some units suppose that they are only responsible for manufacturing motorbike specifications so enterprises in automobile industry with at least 1 year for specific customers should apply IATF 16949:2016.  However, this thought was misunderstood because automobile industry covers motorbike sector so after correctly understanding this matter, units approved of deploying IATF 16949 application.

To reduce costs and avoid severe impacts on production, VEAM chose a factory in each enterprise to conduct its application, for example, Disoco is a spare factory for Honda and Futu1 is a manual forging factory for Honda.  After one year of IATF 16949:2016 application in Disoco, the total value of orders for auto specification production in 2018 reached 78 billion VND, increased as three times as the previous time, the labor productivity was up to 150%, the product quality considerably increased, the rate of faulty goods decreased by 20%.

Then, a mass of other factories of Disoco, Futu1 and member businesses of VEAM also actively deployed IATF 16949:2016 application, employees' awareness was significantly raised.
